چکیده
The 1(01)-0(00), 2(02)-1(01), and 3(03)-2(02) rotational transitions of the FCO radical are observed at 22.3, 44.5, and 66.8 GHz, respectively, using a Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer with a pulsed discharge nozzle. The FCO radical is produced by discharging F(2)CO diluted in the Ar buffer gas. Twelve fine and hyperfine components for the three transitions are observed, and the effective rotational constant, the centrifugal distortion constant, the spin-rotation constant with its centrifugal correction term, and three hyperfine constants are determined. Furthermore, the vibrational satellites for the v(1)=1, v(2)=1, v(3)=1, and v(3)=2 states are also observed in the 22.3 GHz region. From the dipolar interaction constants, the principal axis of the dipolar interaction tensor is estimated and is discussed in relation to the distribution of the unpaired electron. Measurement and theoretical simulation of the HCCOÀ anion photoelectron spectrum
The HCCO radical is of great interest in combustion chemistry because it is a key intermediate in the oxidation of small hydrocarbons such as acetylene. Spectroscopic information has been limited to a handful of experiments, none of which has adequately characterized the Renner–Teller interaction of the two lowest-lying electronic states. In this paper, theory recently developed to describe the...
متن کاملStudy of halogen – carbon dioxide clusters and the fluoroformyloxyl radical by photodetachment of X 2 ( CO 2 ) ( X 5 I , Cl , Br ) and FCO 2 2
Photoelectron spectra have been measured for the anions X~CO2!, with X5I, Br, Cl, and F. The vibrationally resolved spectra show that I~CO2!, Br ~CO2!, and Cl ~CO2! are primarily electrostatically bound clusters, although the charge-quadrupole interaction is strong enough to distort the CO2 molecule by as much as 10° @in Cl ~CO2!#. Ab initio calculations and electrostatic models are used to des...
متن کاملRotational Spectra of the Nitrogen-sulfur Carbon Chains
Seven carbon chain radicals NCnS where n 1⁄4 1 7 have been detected in a supersonic molecular beam by Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. Although NCCS is found to have a bent structure and an asymmetric top spectrum, the five longer chains have linear heavy-atom backbones, and like the isovalent HCnS chains, the electronic ground states of each alternate with even and odd numbers of carb...
متن کاملThe Effect of Substitution of a Zn Atom in Cdn-1TenClusters (n=1-10)
In this research, structural and electronic properties of ZnCdn-1Ten clusters (n=1-10) have been studied by formalism of density functional theory and using the projector augmented wave within local density approximation. The structural properties (such as bond length/angle and coordination number), electronic and optical properties (such as binding energy, Kohn-Sham spect...
متن کاملEmpirical Potential Energy Curve for the Ground State of CaH from a Multi-isotopologue Direct Potential Fit Analysis
Vibration-rotation and pure rotational data in the X2Σ+ ground state and electronic data from the A2Π – X2Σ+ and B2Σ+ − X2Σ+ transitions of CaH and CaD were used in the quantum-mechanical direct-potential-fit (DPF) analysis to determine an analytic potential energy function for the X2Σ+ ground state of CaH, and a radial correction function for the CaD isotopologue. The potential energy function...
